GENERAL INFORMATION [Spanish]
OlaFinanciera is a quarterly scientific journal within the academic field of Financial Economics based out of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) Postgraduate Department in the Economics Faculty and the Fiscal and Financial Unit of the Institute of Economic Investigation of the same university.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS [Spanish]

All proposed articles must conform to the following standards for publication:
 

  1. Proposed articles must be original and should be related to the areas of fiscal, monetary and financial economics and the financing of national and international development.
  2. Proposed articles must conform to the specific theme of each call for papers.
  3. Proposed articles may employ any current of economic theory, as long as they are sustained by hypotheses that are developed adequately throughout the text.
  4. Proposed articles should be sent to Dr. Sergio Cabrera Morales at the journal’s email address, or sabatic@gmail.com
  5. Length of scientific articles and essays should be between 4,000 and 4,500 words and between 20,000 and 25,000 characters without spaces.
  6. Proposed articles should also have an abstract of no more than 250 words.
  7. Articles will be accepted in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.  They will be translated to, and published in Spanish.
  8. Proposed articles should be in Word format and charts and graphs should be in Excel.  Texts should be in Times New Roman; 12 points; justified; spaced at 1.5; left and right margins of 2 cm.  Texts should include the name of the article and or the authors, using an asterisk (*) to indicate references to corresponding curricular information (which will be in the Notes at the beginning of the document).
  9. All articles should contain the following initial information: title; complete name of the author(s); academic degree of the author(s); institute of affiliation of the author(s); email addresses of the author(s); home city and country of the author(s).  This information should be indicated under the title. 
  10. Titles and subtitles should be written using upper and lower-case letters and should be in bold face.
  11. If the articles contains images, they should be sent via email in a separate file with a resolution of no less than 250 dpi.  The desired placement should be indicated in the text. 
  12. If the articles contains tables, they should be sent via email in a separate file. The desired placement should be indicated in the text.  
  13. Footnotes should be numbered in a consistent and uniform fashion throughout the article.
  14. References in the text and the final list of bibliographical references should be presented according to ISO 690.
  15.  The bibliography should only include texts cited in the article. 
  16. Bibliographical references should be included in the text.  Between brackets should be:  the authors name, the year of the work’s publication and the number(s) of pages if necessary.  For example:

[Girón, 2006: 31-32]
If two o more works from the same author were edited in the same year, they should  include the letters a, b, c, etc.; for example: 
[Girón, 2006a: 27]
The complete reference should be given in the bibliography.  Books should be presented in the following form: a) author; b) date between brackets; c) title of the book in italics; d) editorial; e) place, and  f) pages; g) ISBN or ISSN; f) internet access, if available.  For example:

Girón, Alicia. [2006], Poder y moneda: discusión inconclusa. En publicación: Confrontaciones monetarias: marxistas y post-keynesianos en América Latina, Girón, Alicia,  [coordinador];CLACSO, Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales,pp. 124; Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. 2006.   1. Quotes should appear in quotes only (without indentation or reduced margens).
  2. Abbreviations or acronyms should be fully written out the first time they are used in the text, bibliography and in tables and graphs.
